MOPS free acid Molecular biology
MOPS is used to prepare zwitterionic buffers for RNA electrophoresis in agarose. MOPS works exceptionally well for formaldehyde gels at 20mM concentration. MOPS is an electrolyte component for the IEF of 2-D gel electrophoresis, pKa =7,2 at 25°C, useful pH range 6.5-7.
