Ethidiumbromide is an aromatic cationic dye. Ethidiumbromide is commonly used for fluorometric detection of double stranded nucleic acids. Ethidiumbromide also acts as an RNA polymerase inhibitor, and in separation of high molecular weight DNA’s.
